SLT ADSL Connection Speeds and Bullshit they give for slow speeds.

Since recent times I realized that my connection speeds have gone down and I was trying to figure-out what was wrong. Started checking all the connections all the connections and realized that speed was less that 3Mbps. However as per the SLT Advertisement on their web site they say that download speed is 21  Mbps, okay variation of speeds on a share bandwidth is always a given but from 21 to below 3 is totally unacceptable.

Therefore I called the hot-line and made a complain saying that my connection speeds are low, so the call center associate humbly accepted the complain and informed that someone from the technical team will contact me. So I waited and got a call from the technical team and inquired about my issue so when I explained she asked

• whether my wifi router is in a room ? Then I said "Yes"
• then she said the because of the walls there will be a signal drop, then I mentioned to her that my computer is all-ways in the same room as the router so there can be any disturbance from the walls.
• Then she said but that still because its covered with walls signal will drop needs to be open to full environment. (I was giggling but managed to control my self ) Then I said “no it can’t be because my computer shows the full strength always”
• then she said still if it is covered with walls even if you are inside there will be a wifi drop.

I couldn’t listen to this crap anymore so I decided to end this bullshitting of this person once and for all I said madam, I am a network engineer and I know what you are saying is total load of bullshit. I know exactly how this works and when I tested the speed my down load speed is less than 3Mbps, but your web site says that (package I have) ADSL connection has 21 Mbps download speed. So why don’t you tell me what is exactly happening.

Then her story changed and usually you should get 6Mbps and and I will increase your speed to 6Mbps. So I didn’t want to continue this conversation anymore, so I concluded the conversation.

But most important fact here is that she knew from the beginning that they are doing some bandwidth sharing jugglery and because that I am getting slower speeds. Still they were trying to bullshit out of their cheap scam and withhold what is rightfully mine and paid for. On top of this I have realized that connection drops time to time that disrupts download and make them to restart so that my data limits exceeds so that I have to by more data.
